On Christmas Day we boarded the 1912 Edwardian vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw and cruised across Lake Wakatipu where we enjoyed lunch at the Colonel's Homestead at Walter Peak.
We sat under the chandelier which made me nervous as dramatic scenes from The Phantom of the Opera flashed through my mind!
Images of the chandelier crashing down on me was soon forgotten as I savoured the lobster bisque. The Homestead offered a generous buffet spread, and the brandy snaps at the dessert counter was really good!
After lunch we re-boarded the steamship where we sang a few tunes during the sing along!
